Sumayyah Akhtar
is a rising senior attending Foxborough High School. She is participating in Tali Konry’s lab. Her hobbies include community service, Model senate, and Debate Team. She plans on becoming a doctor, and is particularly interested in human physiology.



Yaseen Alkhafaji is a rising senior at Quincy High School. He has been involved with robotics, as well as Model UN, track, and tennis. He will be in Robert Platt’s lab. Taking several engineering classes has opened his mind to many possibilities for a career, and he is considering going into bioengineering or working with robotics.


Anisa Amiji attends school at Bishop Feehan High School, where she will be a senior in the fall. She will be working in Eno Ebong’s lab. Her interests include art, volunteering, track, drama, cooking, and traveling. For a career, she is interested in finding cures for diseases.

Yasa Baig is a rising junior at Foxborough High School. He will be doing research in Taskin Padir’s lab. His interests include orchestra, student council, tennis, community service, Invention Convention, and Robotics. He wants to do have a career related to cardiology.


Michael Barbini will be a junior in the fall at Westborough High School. He will be working in Robert Platt’s lab. He’s a participant of track, orchestra, and Taekwondo. He has experience with Python, C++, and would like to continue working with coding and technology as a career.

Yasmine Boukataya is a rising senior at Pioneer Charter School of Science. This summer, she will be in Carol Livermore's lab. She is interested in community service as well as Science Olympias, and has taken a course at MIT. She plans on becoming a biomedical engineer.


Randy Chen is a rising senior at Boston Latin School. He will be participating in Raymond Fu’s lab. He enjoys piano, community service, and Science Olympiad. He hopes to do work around climate change.


Mike Dumersaint is a rising senior at South Shore Charter Public School. He will be participating in Eno Ebong’s lab. He enjoys band, basketball, biking, and swimming. He is planning on pursuing a medical profession, and is planning on becoming a nurse anesthetic.



Frederick Eberstadt is a rising senior at Needham High School. He will be working in Mansoor Amiji’s lab. He is interested in rugby, history, and wrestling. He participated in an internship at Beth Israel about medical imaging last summer, which sparked his interest in pursuing medical research as a career.

Bridget (Bridie) Eckel attends Barnstable High School and will be a senior in the fall. She will be in Sandra Shefelbine’s lab. She enjoys theater, swim team, and student council. She is planning on entering the engineering field as a biomedical engineer.


Oluwafikemi (Fikemi) Faleye is a rising senior at Lexington Christian Academy. She will be a part of Marilyn Minus’ lab. Her interests include soccer, lacrosse, and ministry work. She plans on becoming a biomedical engineer, or developing software in relation to diseases.

Sakura Gandolfo will be a senior at Advanced Math and Science Academy Charter School this fall. She is a participant of Carol Livermore’s lab. She enjoys community service, figure skating, and playing the violin. She plans on having a career relating to telemedicine or pharmacy.


Jorge Garcia is a rising senior at Revere High School. He will be part of Raymond Fu’s lab. His interests include robotics, basketball, football, and STEM outreach. He plans on becoming a researcher or software engineer, and would love to work for NASA.

Helagenet Gemechu is a rising senior at the Newman School. She is a participant of Tali Konry’s lab. She enjoys lacrosse and reading. For a career, she would like to do work around physiology.


Alex Hardy is a rising senior attending Wellesley High School. This summer, he will participate in Taskin Padir’s lab. He enjoys robotics, tutoring, piano, and rock climbing. He’s also taken a robotics class at MIT, and a class in computer science. While he is unsure of what he’d like to do for a career, he knows he’d like to go into a STEM field.

Joseph Januszewicz is a rising senior at Boston College High School. He will be in Veronica Godoy-Carter’s lab. He participates in community service, ministry work, and Model UN. He is interested in cancer research as a career, or technology management.


Takuma Kobayashi is a rising senior at Brookline High School. He will be a part of Annalisa Onnis-Hayden’s lab. He enjoys soccer and community service. As a career, he is interested in doing work related to climate change.

Katelyn Li is a rising senior at Newton South High School. This summer, she will be participating in Brad Lehman’s lab. She is involved with community service as well as dance. While she is unsure about what she would like to do for a career, she would definitely like to enter a STEM field.


Keyi Li is a rising senior at Westborough High School. He will be in Yung Joon Jung’s lab. He enjoys track, soccer, orchestra, and community service. He is interested in becoming a chemical or bioengineer.

Michelle Lim is a rising senior at Lexington High School. She will be a participant of Carey Rappaport’s lab. Her interests include orchestra, community service, tennis, and robotics; particularly, she is experienced with programming. She plans on becoming a researcher or doing an alternative STEM-related career, and is interested in electrical work.


Samantha Marglous is a rising senior at Sharon High School. She will be a participant of Sandra Shefelbine’s lab. She enjoys softball, debate, and community service. For a career, she is interested in becoming a doctor, or researching 3D organs.

Ian McGregor is a rising senior at Boston College High School. He will be working in Akram Alshawabkeh’s lab. He enjoys karate, Model UN, and community service. As a career, he would like to use math and physics to address environmental and political issues.


Nadine Najah is a rising sophomore at Pioneer Charter School of Science II. She will be a member of Brad Lehman’s lab. She enjoys softball, soccer, volleyball, community service, and has participated in Science Fair.  She plans on becoming a doctor, and would like to work for Doctors without Borders.

Emily O'Neill is a rising senior at Cardinal Spellman High School. She will be working in Marvin Onabajo’s lab. Her interests include soccer, basketball, lacrosse, track, drama, and chorus. She plans on becoming a chemical engineer.


Jordan Payne is a rising senior at Holliston High School. He is a participant of Veronica Godoy-Carter’s lab. He enjoys tennis, trap shooting, skiing, and community service. For a career, he is interested in pursuing the medical field or research.

Caroline Quinn is a rising senior at Canton High School. This summer, she will be working in Mansoor Amiji’s lab. She enjoys community service, Quiz Bowl, dancing, and various sports. She has also done an independent research project on genome editing, and would like to have a career working with genetics in relation to disabilities.


MaryBeth Rockett is a rising senior at Needham High School. She will be a part of Matthew Eckelman’s lab. Her interests consist of community service, swimming, tennis, track, and robotics; specifically, coding. She is planning on pursuing a career in biomedical engineering.

Anthony Roytman is a rising senior at Sharon High School. He will be working in Marilyn Minus’ lab. He enjoys sailing, as well as theater, and participated in the Young Scholar’s Program. He is planning to pursue a career in theater or engineering.


Louis Sokolow attends Brookline High School and is a rising senior. He will be a participant of Matthew Eckelman’s lab. He enjoys choir, and has participated in Science Fair. He has many career interests that he is currently considering to go into, including math, chemistry, climate change, and research disease.

Amrita Sridhar is a rising senior at Boston University Academy. She is a participant of Akram Alshawabkeh’s lab. She enjoys Model UN, maps and geography, and participates in her school’s science team. She plans to into research or something STEM-related that requires creative thinking.


Ioana Stoica is a rising senior at Norwood Senior High School. She will be working in Yung Joon Jung’s lab. She enjoys tennis as well as community service. She plans on developing a career relating to chemistry, specifically subparticles.

Alexandru Teodorescu is a rising senior at the Newman School. He will be working in Carey Rappaport's lab. He is a participant of Model UN, Science Olympiad, Robotics, and SPLASH. He is interested in BioTechnology.


Cameron Young is a rising senior at Medfield High School. He will be working in Marvin Onabajo’s lab. He enjoys football, lacrosse, track and field, volunteering, and robotics. He is interested in working on how to improve medical practices or technology as a career.

Serena Yu is a rising senior at North Quincy High School. She will be a participant of Annalisa Onnis-Hayden’s lab. Her interests consist of theater, golf, choir, tennis, and community service. She would live to go into civil engineering to address environmental problems.
