Shortly about me
I have a background in biology and terrestrial ecology, with a degree from University of Barcelona and a Doctorate from the University of Helsinki. My field of expertise falls in the biogeosciences, particularly in the study of the atmosphere-biosphere exchange mechanisms. I have conducted research mainly in two fields: mechanistic understanding of ozone fluxes in boreal forests (Finland) and carbon cycle in mountain pastures (Pyrennes). I have a long working history related to flux-based ecological and physiological measurements, to which I added tools from functional ecology.
I decided to leave academic research definitively in 2015, because "if you leave and nobody stops you: keep walking". There is a book waiting to be written about this. I turned into what should have been my profession since my Biology degree: scientific illustration.
I have been employed 2017-2021 at INAR, at the University of Helsinki, as a Research Coordinator that focuses on visual communication, I like to call myself Graphics Officer. I worked 60% so that I have time to learn new skills.
I have currently no affiliation in academia and work as a freelancer. More about this here.

In this website
This page lists my academic and professional activities as a scientific researcher: since I started University studies in Barcelona, including the period as a PhD student in Finland, and ending with things done during the PostDoc period. My scientific career finished de facto (no financing) in mid-2013, and I consciously stopped pursuing that career path since 2015. Nonetheless, I continued producing scientific output -for various reasons- still many years after and these are also included here.
This website gives you the facts about my life during the time I was student and researcher in the academy. For indexes, stats, scores and other formats go to googlescholar or researchgate. Find me also at LinkedIn.
