Band Scholarship

Northeastern University Band Association

Every year, Northeastern University offers five scholarships for instrumental musicians. These are $10,000 scholarships for full-time entering freshmen who display strong musical talent on a standard concert band instrument. You do not need to be a music major to receive a scholarship. The scholarships are renewable.

Scholarship recipients will be obliged to perform in two of these three instrumental performing ensembles: Pep Band, Concert Band and Jazz Band.  They must also be available for up to five additional performances per semester if given two weeks notice.  For example, the Pep Band typically requires the students who choose Concert Band and Jazz Band to perform at Homecoming, their largest fall event.

The auditions for fall 2008 are over.  For more information about the fall 2009 auditions, come back in February 2009.
