[History] The first U.S. President who received a Ph.D. degree: Woodrow Wilson, from John Hopkins University, in 1886.
[History] The first sales tax in the U.S. was in effect in the state of West Virginia on 1 July 1921. Now the only 5 states having no sales tax are: Alaska, Delaware, New Hampshire, Oregon and Montana, as of 2005.
