Fire Precautions

Regular fire drills are held to prepare children in case of fire, so that they do not worry too much. These are usually one every six to eight weeks. *

In case of fire, the following steps are taken to ensure the safety of the children in my care:

 1.      Assess where the danger is

 2.      Gather the children and leave by the safest exit, collecting emergency numbers and contact details at the same time (these are by the external exits).

 3.      Contact the Fire Service and support childminder to get children to safety.

 4.      Contact parents and apprise them of the situation. Await arrival of parents at support childminders home.

 *  Records of fire drill results are kept on file.
