The NSW Right to Information/Privacy Practitioners Network consists of those who have responsibility for, or interest in, compliance with the NSW Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009, the NSW Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998, and the NSW Health Records and Information Protection Act 2002 in the NSW public sector. There are members from government agencies, health services, local government, State Owned Corporations and the universities.
The Network meets quarterly, in the NSW Parliament House, Macquarie Street, Sydney.
The agenda usually includes group discussions, feedback from the Consultative Committee, reports on recent cases, legislative and other developments and guest speakers. The first session from 9:00 to 10:30 is mostly closed (for practitioners only), with the second half of the meeting dedicated to presentations.
Representatives of the Office of the Information and Privacy Commission NSW are always present (in the second half) and usually the Commissioners themselves address the group.
