Coming from a palaeontological (& geological) background, I have always been interested in the evolutionary
history of organisms, how they might have lived in the past and how the diversity seen today developed.
My interdisciplinary PhD project on evolution and phylogeny of cervids from their origins until today is
between classic palaeontology and zoology and combines interesting aspects of both disciplines.

A broad interest in taxonomy & phylogeny, biomechanics & functional morphology/anatomy,
systematics and evolution with a strong focus on vertebrates has led me to a variety of interesting projects.

The current project is undertaken at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München with an 18 months research visit to the
University Museum of Zoology in Cambridge; funded by the DAAD & Elitenetzwerk Bayern.
