Volunteers needed

Below is a list of upcoming volunteer opportunities with the Research Triangle Professionals (RTP).

Creekside Elementary Black History Career Expo Event

Description:
Creekside Elementary's Parents of African American Children (PAAC) subcommittee of the PTA is holding an event on Thursday, February 28th from 6 PM - 8 PM with the objective to showcase a wide-variety of black businesses and professionals around Durham, to show kids what opportunities lay ahead for them. The PAAC are hoping the event will provide a sort of living library of careers through interactive demonstrations, as well as performances by local artists and food from local vendors.

Volunteer Opportunities:
1) Daytime (12-2pm) - Professionals will go to classrooms to talk to students about their career (how they got there and what it is like). We have some people who are going to do interactive presentations during this time as well. Each person will present 4-5 15-minute presentations. This will only be open to Creekside students.

2) Evening (6-8pm) - Professionals from a variety of fields, as well as performers, and vendors selling food and goods will be set up in the gym and throughout the school to talk to the kids and/or provide interactive demonstrations to them about their careers and fields. Each professional participant will have a table and chair to set up their booth (extra accommodations are available but need to be requested/communicated).

Creekside Elementary & the PAAC are grateful for all volunteers that can be there and want it to be as valuable to you as it is for their kids! . The event needs volunteers.
