Nottingham Masters of TRENTSIDE
Sunday 25th February 2018

MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN OF THE ORGANISING COMMITTEE

In 2015 we ran a head race exclusively for Masters on the day before the Head of the Trent, and from the feedback we received it was deemed a great success. Unfortunately however, we don’t think we can reliably repeat this successful format and from 2017 will be incorporating the Masters of Trentside into the Head of the Trent for the foreseeable future.

The principal reason is that the Masters’ event as originally conceived will always have to run on an irregular cycle that will prevent it from ever getting properly established. This is because we depend on Nottingham Forest FC playing away:  if they have a home game on the Saturday of the event then the race cannot realistically take place. We've looked at alternative dates, and alterations to the course, but none have been found to be practical.

While this is disappointing, we will continue to run Masters of Trentside within the Head of the Trent and hope to continue building up the Masters’ entry. If you wish to enter, use ‘Head of the Trent’ as the selected event within BROE2.

Regards
Tony Lorrimer
