DO YOU LIKE WALKING? IF YOU DO, WHY NOT JOIN US

WHO ARE WE?

We are the Nottingham Countryside Holiday Association Rambling Club, founded in 1906. The Reverend T.A. Leonard first founded the nationwide C.H.A. in the 1890's. The national organisation was recently wound up but along with many other regional C.H.A. clubs we intend to continue a wonderful tradition for many years to come. Our membership is made up of people of all ages and different backgrounds who have a love of the open countryside, healthy exercise, 'Getting away from it all' and sharing the companionship of like-minded people. Our present membership stands at around 170 members.

WHAT WE DO?

Throughout the year we arrange walks on Weekdays, Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays, both locally and further a field. Walks can vary between 5 to 10 miles and leaders try to provide a choice of length to suit various abilities. Special coaches are provided for many Sunday and Bank Holiday walks at a reasonable cost. We also use public transport mainly on Weekday and Saturday walks. We publish a quarterly program which gives details of each walk and the leader to contact, seats on coaches must be booked in advance.

A program is avaliable on request please see the contact page for further details. <HERE>

There is also a list of walks taken from the current program. <HERE>

We regret that dogs (except guide dogs) are not allowed on walks. We normally have two club holidays each year with a walking program and social timetable in the UK and abroad. As well as some none-walking social outings including slideshows, visits to places of interest and an annual new year party. All this for a small membership fee. (Currently @ £7.00 annually and £3.50 for juniours)
