Hailing from the quiet hills and lush fields of St. Albans, Vermont, Notes in the Sandbox will be breaking into the folk landscape with their upcoming debut album, Before These Days Have Come And Gone, fusing Brian Theoret’s homespun vocal narratives with rustic acoustic guitar to create simply beautiful Dylan-esque results. With standout tracks like “Confide” and “Another Punch for the Weary,” the music of Notes in the Sandbox appeals to folk fans and non-folk fans alike.
Brian grew up listening to his father strumming his old guitar and singing funny songs and was inspired to begin taking piano lessons as a child. He picked up the alto saxophone in middle school and later in college picked up the guitar, mandolin, tin whistle, recorder, harmonica, and the piano yet again.
Throughout his musical journey, Brian was always drawn towards the music of such singer/songwriters as Martin Sexton, and Damien Rice and the likes of Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan. He has always had a passion for music that speaks to people.
