The Nordöstlicher Sängerbund von Amerika (NÖSB), also known as the Northeastern Saengerbund of America, is the umbrella organization for German choruses in the Mid-Atlantic area ranging from Long Island, NY in the North and through Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland to Washington, DC in the South.
The purpose of this society is to promote the cultivation of German songs and music, the German language, customs and sociability among its members, and to hold National Song Festivals (Sängerfests).

The 53rd Sängerfest

The Nordöstlicher Sängerbund has announced
that the next Sängerfest will be a one-day festival
to be held at the Canstatter Volksfest Verein
9130 Academy Road, Philadelphia, PA 19114.

The participating choruses plan to offer individual presentations,
as well as a combined chorus of all singers at the conclusion.
A festive dinner and dance will follow the concert.
The history of the Nordoestlicher Saengerbund von Amerika
goes back to 1850 when the first such festival was held in Philadelphia.
Initially held each year, it was later changed to a triennial cycle.

The 52nd Saengerfest

of the Nordöstlicher Sängerbund on June 12-14, 2015
was hosted by the Bloomfield Liedertafel of Pittsburgh, PA
with a festival concert followed by a banquet
at the Wyndham Grand Hotel in Pittsburgh.

The 51st Saengerfest

of the Nordöstlicher Sängerbund was organized by the Lehigh Saengerbund from the Lehigh Valley in Pensylvania on June 8-10, 2012. A grand concert with 200 singers and orchestra was presented on Saturday evening in the Allentown Symphony Hall.
