SCIPY in an intensive Primary FRCA exam preparation course.  It is a Northern based version of the very successful South Coast Intensive Primary (SCIP) course which has now been running for more than ten years with fantastic results.

The course is designed to give essential help for the OSCE/SOE day of the exam.  It concentrates on exam technique, looking at commonly occurring exam questions and practice, practice, practice.

South Yorkshire Trainee Airway Course (STAC)

posted 10 Jul 2014, 15:07 by Sheffield CAT   [ updated 10 Jul 2014, 15:07 ]

Dear all,

Our South Yorkshire Airway Course is running for the second time on Wednesday 1st October 2014. It is aimed at trainees up to and including ST4 and NCCG's who are looking to improve and refresh their airway management skills.

We have an excellent faculty again this year with >70% consultants. This is a great chance to have a play with difficult airway equipment (fibreoptic scopes, video laryngoscopes, front of neck access) and we'll be discussing NAP4, challenging airway cases and running high fidelity simulated scenarios. It costs £60 per person to cover room hire, refreshments and lunch and takes place on 'R Floor' at RHH. We hope to have Deanery confirmation soon that the study budget will cover this course. (They're currently streamlining airway courses across Yorkshire but aiming to keep one running in each area of Yorkshire)

Comments from last year's course included:

'excellent'

'I enjoyed it'

'I would recommend it'

'really good - with introduction to equipment I had not seen before'

'it should be mandatory'

Please see the attached poster for details and if you'd like to secure your place, please e-mail STACsecretary@gmail.com.

We look forward to seeing you there,

Jo Gordon (ST7) & Bisanth Batuwitage (Consultant)
