North Toronto Community Band
News!
We are looking for new musicians to join us!
If you are eager to dust off your instrument after two years of Covid restrictions, come out and give us a try. Rehearsals will start up again in September. While we are a non-auditioned band, we do expect you to be able to keep up with the music. You can give us a try for 2-3 weeks before making a commitment to joining the band. We are looking for the following instruments:
Drummer ( there is a drum set on site, but you will need to bring your own kit to off-site concerts)
Clarinets ( 2nd and 3rd)
Trumpets ( 1st, 2nd & 3rd)
Trombones ( 2nd)
French Horns ( 1st & 2nd)
( Our flute, saxophone, euphonium and tuba sections are currently full.)
Please contact us at ntcband@gmail.com with any questions.
We rehearse at Willowdale Presbyterian Church ( 38 Ellerslie Ave. North York), off Yonge Street, just north of Mel Lastman Square, on Monday evenings at 7:30 pm. Covid protocols are currently in place.
Who We Are
The North Toronto Community Band is a concert band of about 40 amateur musicians of all ages who gather on Monday nights from September to June to practice and perform together. We play a wide variety of music - arrangements of show tunes, film music, classical transcriptions, big band jazz, marches and solo features, as well as some original works for concert band.
The Band performs four or five concerts per year: a couple a local retirement residences, a Christmas concert or two, and our big gala concert every Spring.
