North Shore Horticultural Society

Supporting and Informing Massachusetts Gardeners Since 1899

Thank you for visiting the North Shore Horticultural Society!

NSHS was originated by the estate gardeners of the Gold Coast so they could share both their horticultural knowledge
and pleasant society.  This was in 1899.  Since that time, the mission of NSHS has not changed.

Today, however, NSHS membership is comprised of everyone from novices to master gardeners.  What is common among all is a desire to learn the answers to the questions, "What makes my garden grow?" and, "What can I learn about other gardens and from their gardeners?"  Our monthly meetings seek to answer these questions, and to have a little fun at the same time.

Each season, we strive to offer a diverse set of programs to our members and guests. Popular topics include

    Perennials
    Annuals
    Trees and Shrubs
Plants for varied conditions in the garden
Noteworthy gardens, at home and abroad
    Sustainable and environmentally-aware garden practices

The "Programs & Events" page has more information on this season's meeting schedule, including topic descriptions.  Please come and enjoy!
