Tim's Scalloped Potatoes

Made in Cindy's Kitchen, "Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard"

Recipe as given to me by my friend, Tim, with a bit of adjusting with the amount of Cheese and % of milk.

Tim's Scalloped Potatoes


1/4 cup flour
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp dry mustard
1/4 cup butter melted
2 cups whole milk (I used 2%)
1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese (I used 1 cup)

Melts butter on stove top, gradually stirring in flour mixture to make a roux. Stir in milk, whisking occasionally until thickened. Stir in cheese.

Sautee onions in butter; mix in sauce and sliced potatoes. Bake in 350* oven until potatoes are cooked through and tender.
