Mom's Christmas Cookie

Made in Cindy's Kitchen, "Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard"
Recipe Source:  My Mother, Stella Masterson, more then likely gotten from my Paternal Grandmother, Alma Masterson.

1 Cup Brown Sugar
1 Cup White Sugar
1 1/2 Cups Shortening or Lard (I use Margarine)
Cream well and add:

3 eggs, mixing very well
2 tsp. Vanilla
4 1/2 Cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
Mix the above ingredients together, then add:

1 bottle red cherries, drained and chopped (approx. 2 cups)
1 bottle green cherries, drained and chopped (approx. 2 cups)

Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a parchment lined cookie sheet and bake at 350* F for 8 to 10 minutes (depending on Oven, as mine took 12 minutes).
