The Cycle-Rail Forum for the North exists to promote Best Practice in the integration of cycling and rail travel in the Northern of England.
Northern Rail operates local services in the North of England, from as far south as Nottingham to Newcastle and Carlisle, including routes through many of the North's National Parks.
Trans-Pennine Express operates intercity train services linking key cities and major towns in the North and Scotland.
The Northern Rail franchise was taken over by Arriva as of 1st April 2016.
The First Arriva Northern Cycle Forum (now called the Northern Cycle-Rail Forum) was held on Wednesday 7 September 2016 in Manchester.
The name of the Forum was changed to “Cycle-Rail Forum for the North" on 26th January, to reflect that Trans-Pennine Express are to become active members of the Forum
The first meeting of the new Forum will take place in Sheffield on 8th March 2017.
