Northeast Natural History & Supply is pleased to offer here List XXVI a fine collection of marine mammal books from the private collection of fishery biologist Jeff Breiwick.  Jeff was a fishery biologist with the National Marine Fisheries Service (NOAA) in Seattle for 37 years. After obtaining a BS degree from the University of Washington College of Fisheries (1968) he served for three years in the Peace Corps in Chile where he worked in a hake and a crab sampling program at an institute set up by FAO. He returned to the UW for a MS and PhD in fisheries population dynamics and stock assessment, studying under Prof. Douglas G. Chapman (member of the International Whaling Commission (IWC) Committee of Three and a former chairman of the U.S. Marine Mammal Commission). He worked on whale population dynamics and stock assessment issues while with NMFS and was a member of the Scientific Committee of the IWC while with the Marine Mammal Laboratory in Seattle. He has collected books on cetaceans since the late 1970s and recently retired in 2014.
