News and What's on
Christmas in the Square 2019
Playing Fields will again be supporting Alison & Noel Prosser’s annual Christmas in the Square on Sunday, 15th December 2019, 4-6pm. This is slightly later in the month than usual so please make a date in your diary for this wonderful event which many people say is the start of their Christmas festivities. Father Christmas is booked to come along to chat with the children, hand out gifts and switch on the tree lights. There will also be entertainment, children’s games, a Pyne’s hog roast, Licenced Bar, Mulled Wine and other refreshments! Be sure to look out for further information. |
MUGA (Multi Use Games Area) Floodlights Replaced
We are fortunate to have been given an anonymous donation to enable us
to replace the MUGA lights. With the
evenings getting darker this will be a huge benefit to the Playing Fields. If there are any groups that would like to take
advantage of the MUGA and book evening sessions, please book through our
website. A big thank you to our
benefactor, we are very grateful |
May Fayre 2019
Join us this year at the May Fayre on 11th May 2019. As usual we shall be providing food and drink for all the thirsty and hungry crowds on the day. |
Race Night success
Thanks
to all that attended the sell-out evening.
Despite some gremlins with the AV all had a great time and the prosecco
certainly flowed. We raised a staggering
£1800 over the evening so both we and Jan Ashcroft really wish to thank those
that supported us. Jan still needs a bit
more to reach her target of £1500 to enable her to complete the Moon Walk for
breast cancer care, so why not buy a balloon at the May Fayre.
We will be running again next year due to requests already received, we will however ensure that the AV is fully operational well in advance, though we will be putting a limit on of 120 tickets this time.

2015 AGM
Race Night 2015
On Saturday, April 18th Doors open 7.30pm, first race 8pm Come along for a fantastic evening which packs in all the fun and excitement of day at the races. The evening is professionally compared and the races are shown on a big screen. Continuing the success of previous years, it open to families and we will start the first race sharp at 8:00. This year we are dividing the income between the North Curry Playing Fields charity and supporting Jan Ashcroft’s Moon Walk for breast cancer care.WHY I'M WALKING THE WALKEveryone knows
someone who is affected by Breast Cancer. If I can make even the slightest
difference to help wipe out this terrible disease which has affected so many
families and friends then it will be worth every step and although I realise it
will be difficult, I will endeavour, on behalf of all who sponsor me to enjoy
the scenery at the same time.

New developments at the playing field
We are this year looking to deliver the first of a number of projects to enhance the playing field facilities. By the time you read this we will have met with all of the children in the school and hopefully some of their parents to prioritise just what it is that we will be doing first. The ideas we have so far are:

2013 AGM
Notice of our AGM
Firstly it is that time of year when we the North Curry Playing Field need to have our AGM. We are looking in addition to extra members this year, but also for someone to come onto the committee and take on the role of Treasurer, this while not a huge task is an important one, Paul Gratton who has done this for the past three years, is looking to hand on to someone new, but the great news for us is that he is still staying on the committee.
So please if you are interested in being Treasurer or just helping us manage some of the exiting challenges we have this next year get in touch pavilion@northcurry.com or volunteer at the AGM |
