The North Columbia Heights Civic Association ("NCHCA") is a civic organization geared at improving life for residents of the northern half of Columbia Heights (between 16th Street and Georgia Ave. (west-east) and Spring Road and Irving Street (north-south) in Northwest Washington, D.C.).

The NCHCA meets at 7:00 P.M. on the first Wednesday of every alternating month.  Meeting locations and agendas will be posted on this page.  Please join the Yahoo discussion group if you are interested in learning more about this community or contributing to community events and initiatives.

The NCHCA board is comprised of:

Jeff Zeeman,President

Richard Dubeshter, Treasurer

In the past, NCHCA has focused on neighborhood clean-ups, improving green space, contributions to local schools, public safety, graffiti abatement, improving traffic patterns and introducting bike lanes, and forging relationships with existing and potential businesses.

Our last meeting was Wednesday, November 4, at 7:00 P.M. at Harriet Tubman school.  Featured guest was Mayor Fenty!  Meeting minutes coming soon.

Our last meeting was Wednesday, July 1, 7:00 P.M. at Park Triangle Community Room.  Topic: community festivals.  Minutes of the meeting are posted at the minutes archives.

To get involved with improving / maintaining / programming  the new informal dog park at 11th and Park Road, please email Jill Davis at jilldavisa@yahoo.com, who recently conducted an organizational meeting for users of that space. Also check out this blog concerning the space.

On June 4, 2008 we held a town hall, discussing green space featuring town hall on the 11th and Monroe Park.  Minutes of the meeting / town hall are posted here.
