A TRUE STORY FROM A GOOD FRIEND

Will you give this to my Daddy?

Last week a friend was in Atlanta, Georgia attending a conference. While he was in the airport he heard several people clapping and cheering. Immediately he turned around.
Moving through the terminal was a group of soldiers in their camos. As they began heading to their gate, everyone (well almost everyone) was abruptly to their feet with their hands waving and cheering.

We are not the only red-blooded American who still love this country and supports our troops and their families.
Then a young girl, not more than 6 or 7 years old, ran up to one of the soldiers. He kneeled down and said 'hi.'
The little girl then asked him if he would give something to her daddy (on duty) for her.

The young soldier (in his early 20's) said he would try, and asked what did she want to give to her Daddy. Then suddenly the little girl grabbed the neck of this soldier, gave him the biggest hug she could muster and then kissed him on the cheek.
The mother of the little girl, who said her daughter's name was Courtney, told the young soldier that her husband was a Marine and had been in Iraq for 11 months now. As the mom was explaining how much her daughter Courtney missed her father, the young soldier began to tear up.

When the mom was done explaining her situation, all of the soldiers huddled together for a brief second. Then one of the other servicemen pulled out a military-looking walkie-talkie. They started playing with the device and talking back and forth on it..

After about 10-15 seconds of this, the young soldier walked back over to Courtney, bent down and said to her, 'I spoke to your daddy and he told me to give this to you.' He then hugged this little girl that he had just met and gave her a kiss on the cheek. He finished by saying 'your daddy told me to tell you that he loves you more than anything and he is coming home very soon.'
The mom at this point was crying almost uncontrollably and as the young soldier stood to his feet, he saluted Courtney and her mom.

As the soldiers began to leave, heading towards their gate, people resumed their applause, there were very few dry eyes. The first young soldier turned around and blew a kiss to Courtney with a tear rolling down his cheek.
We need to remember everyday all of our soldiers and their families (men and women like our friends and relatives, coworkers, employees, any one of the many people we meet in the street who may have worn a uniform) and thank God for them and their sacrifices. At the end of the day, it's good to be an American.

RED FRIDAYS
Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing Red every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops used to be called the 'silent majority'. We should no longer be silent, but speak out our love for God, country and homes in record breaking numbers.
We are not organized, boisterous or over-bearing. We get no liberal media coverage on TV, to reflect our message or our opinions. Many American, like you, me and all our friends, simply want to recognize that the vast majority of Americans supports our troops.

The idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect starts this Friday, and continues each and every Friday until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that.. Every red-blooded American who supports our men and women afar will wear something red.

By word of mouth, press, TV, let's make the United States on every Friday a sea of red.

If every one of us who loves this country will share this with acquaintances, co-workers, friends, and family. It will not be long before the USA is covered in RED and it will let our troops know the once 'silent' majority is on their side more than ever; certainly more than the media lets on.

The first thing a soldier says when asked 'What can we do to make things better for you?' is...We need your support and your prayers.

Let's get the word out and lead with class and dignity, by example; and wear something red every Friday.

IF YOU AGREE -- THEN SEND THIS ON.
Thank you.
God Bless.
SYRIA

The United States should take advantage of the latest blow to Assad's inner circle, hastening his demise while preventing worst-case follow-on events.

Today's apparent assassination of top military officials in Syria marks a new and possibly decisive phase in the civil war between Bashar al-Assad's regime and the broad, loosely coordinated, but clearly potent opposition. For the United States, this turn of events should shift the policy discussion from a UN debate over renewal of the ineffectual Annan peacekeeping mission to ways of exploiting the disarray, namely by pressing Assad to leave power while avoiding outcomes such as chaos, ethnic bloodbath, or jihadist takeover.

With at least three of the eight targeted military leaders apparently dead, the Damascus bombing will almost certainly be a major blow to the regime's ability to conduct its war against the Syrian people. The impact will be felt both operationally and psychologically, with the potential for cascading problems in conducting military actions across the country. The surviving leadership will have to rebuild a command structure in an environment where increasing numbers of military officers and civilian supporters are likely to see the assassinations as the writing on the wall for the regime and begin to seek alternatives for their own survival. Depending on whether the regime is able to steady itself quickly, the incident could also provide an opportunity for opposition forces to press ahead with creating safe zones in various parts of the country, or even to take decisive action against Assad.

IDEAS FOR U.S. POLICY

The decimating of Syria's top security leadership clearly moves the goalposts for U.S. policy. Assad's near-term demise, while not assured, is now more likely than ever, and if it comes to pass, it will have been achieved by the courage and ingenuity of Syrian opposition forces. For some in Washington, this will validate both the arm's-length approach the Obama administration has taken to the idea of more direct involvement in the anti-Assad effort and its reliance on economic sanctions and diplomatic isolation. In reality, though, Assad's demise will have come because of armed action by Syrians, not outside measures that came months later than necessary and at the cost of thousands of innocent lives and the potential for greater radicalization in his wake.

But Assad is not yet gone. To facilitate his fall, U.S. policy must now shift gears away from the diplomatic ballet over the Annan mission, the covert effort to support the arming of opposition elements, and the low-intensity effort to organize the Syrian political opposition (via the equally unwieldy collection of nearly a hundred countries in the "Friends of the Syrian People" group). Instead, Washington should build on the Damascus attack to hasten the regime's collapse, focusing on the dangerous period marked by Assad's last stand and the emergence of whatever comes next.

Specifically, the administration should do the following:

* In coordination with key allies, urge Assad both publicly and privately to leave for exile with his remaining family while he still has a chance to avoid the fate of Muammar Qadhafi and Saddam Hussein.

* Privately urge Iran and Russia to remove any residual military presence in Syria.

* Convene leaders of the Syrian opposition (both civilian and military) and key "Friends of Syria" (e.g., Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and major European powers) to discuss a blueprint for the endgame, including the formation of a successor government-in-waiting. Neither Russia nor Iran should be invited. This is as much political theater as practical policymaking, given that the goal at the moment should be to drive an ever-deeper wedge between Assad and his shrinking circle of support, especially among Alawites outside his clan and his remaining Sunni collaborators.

* Work with the Syrian opposition, the Arab League, and Turkey to issue a statement offering specific commitments to the protection of Syrian minorities in the event of Assad's departure, with reference to Alawites, Christians, Kurds, and Druze.

* Dispatch military/security officials to consult with Syria's neighbors -- Turkey, Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, and Israel -- in a high-profile display of coordination to warn Assad against a desperate, last-chance external adventure.

* Begin intensive preparations for the deployment of an international stabilization and humanitarian support force designed to reduce the risks associated with post-Assad transition. Its mission should include securing and possibly removing Syria's chemical weapons stocks, supporting the successor government's efforts to prevent violent retribution against Alawites and others perceived as pro-Assad, and providing humanitarian assistance. The latter element should include medical care (on hospital ships and onshore) and other aid to Syrians who suffered during the regime's brutal crackdown, as well as assisting in the repatriation of Syrian refugees in Turkey, Lebanon, and Jordan. Although this could eventually become a UN-sanctioned operation, it is important for the United States to take the lead in defining the mission with key allies as soon as possible.

More generally, Washington now has the opportunity to apply the difficult and often painful lessons learned from political transitions elsewhere in the Middle East over the past eighteen months. While the arc of Syria's history may be bending toward justice -- paraphrasing President Obama's comments after Egyptian revolutionaries forced Hosni Mubarak out in 2011 -- transitions in the Middle East have produced not just popular governments, but also regression in minority rights (Egypt), weapons proliferation (Libya), and the empowerment of political movements long critical of U.S. policy in the region -- let alone the emergence of horrific, Taliban-style rule in Mali.

Despite not giving the opposition the material support it has wanted, the United States has avoided damaging its position among Syrians the way Russia has. If the Assad regime is truly on the edge, the Obama administration has been gifted the opportunity to help shape the transition in a way that limits the potential for negative outcomes and, along the way, bolsters America's standing in a post-Assad Syria.

Harvard to Host Conference Promoting Israel's Destruction

On March 3-4, Harvard will host a two-day conference at the Kennedy School of Government focused, in effect, on dismantling the Jewish state of Israel. A number of student groups and others associated with Harvard are sponsoring “One State Conference: Israel/Palestine and the One State Solution.”

Those who promote a one-state “solution” advocate creating an entity which would, through its merger with the Palestinian Arab population of the West Bank and Gaza and an influx of Palestinians from neighboring states, lose its Jewish majority and its Jewish character. In effect, Jewish self-determination would be nullified.

According to the working definition of anti-Semitism developed by the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA), and recognized by the United States Department of State, the One State Conference, in implicitly “denying the Jewish people their right to self-determination,” is an exercise in anti-Semitism.

In a conversation recorded on February 9, 2012 at Imperial College in London, even Norman Finkelstein, who describes himself as having devoted his life to the cause of the Palestinians, told his interviewer, “You know and I know exactly what we're talking about because if we end the occupation, and we bring back 6 million Palestinians, and we have equal rights for Arabs and Jews, there's no Israel. That's what it's really about.”

The “Vision & Goals” section of the conference website states:

To date, the only Israel/Palestine solution that has received a fair rehearsal in mainstream forums has been the two-state solution. Our conference will help to expand the range of academic debate on this issue. Thus, our main goal is to educate ourselves and others about the possible contours of a one-state solution and the challenges that stand in the way of its realization.

Conference speakers and organizers include extreme anti-Israel academics, the founder of Electronic Intifada, members of the radical Jewish Voice for Peace and an ex-PLO spokesperson. No one even remotely sympathetic to Israel appears to be affiliated with the conference.

The Kennedy School's own notorious Stephen Walt, author of The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy, a work discredited for its shoddy scholarship and bigoted charges against American supporters of Israel, joins other Harvard figures, including law school professor Duncan Kennedy, in lending the event the imprimatur of the institution.

The One State Conference website boasts the logo of Harvard's Kennedy School of Government and has been in the planning for a year. According to The Jewish Advocate, Kennedy School Dean David T. Ellwood released a statement, saying:

I want to emphasize once again that Harvard University and the Harvard Kennedy School in no way endorses or supports the apparent position of these student organizers or any participants they include. We hope that the final shape of the conference will be significantly more balanced.

Furthermore, the university is quoted saying that the event is being at least partially underwritten by “modest” funds set aside for student activities. According to Melodie Jackson, Associate Dean for Communications, also quoted in The Jewish Advocate: “Generally administrators try to be supportive of student ideas for events that they are planning.”

Increasingly, assaults on Israel's legitimacy and survival are promoted by academics, including at the nation's most prestigious universities.

Anti-Semitism and Sham Scholarship

Another element in the State Department-recognized working definition of anti-Semitism is “drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis.” That is also likely to occur at the conference. Scheduled speaker Ali Abunimah has previously compared Israel to Nazis, and similar statements have been made by others. Conference organizer Ahmed Moor also accuses Jews of racism asserting, “Many Israelis and Jewish people are weaned on the idea of Jewish exceptionalism.” Marc Ellis likens Jews to Nazis and to the Egyptians of the Passover tale.

This sort of anti-Israel, anti-Semitic invective, masquerading as education, has become commonplace at these conferences. Far from being scholarly, however, many of the scheduled speakers are of dubious academic integrity and frequently disseminate misinformation and false narratives about Israel and Jews. For example:

·                     Ali Abunimah has intentionally understated Hamas violence and disseminated false quotations to make Israeli leaders appear cruel.

·                     Diana Buttu has repeatedly and falsely understated the extent of Palestinian terrorist violence and mischaracterized international law. She has even gone so far as to claim that Hamas rockets have no explosive head. This is an obvious falsehood.

·                     Marc Ellis wrote a column describing how a Palestinian friend of his was murdered because Jewish settlers coveted her family's land, falsely implying she was killed by Jews when, in fact, her murderer was an Arab. Ellis is currently defending himself against charges by Baylor University that could lead to his dismissal.

·                     Leila Farsakh falsely asserted in a French newspaper that the PLO had agreed to share land with Israel in 1974. The truth is that in 1974, the PLO reaffirmed its rejection of a land-for-peace deal in what is known as the “Phased Plan” for the destruction of Israel.

·                     Ilan Pappé repeatedly published a fabricated quotation to make David Ben-Gurion appear to endorse ethnic cleansing. Pappé has so little regard for historical facts, he freely admits “I am not as interested in what happened as in how people see what's happened.”

·                     Nadim Rouhana was denied tenure at Boston College due to the insufficient quality of his scholarship.

·                     Stephen Walt is best known for his book, written with John Mearsheimer, The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy. The book, which claims American Jews are a fifth column that controls American policy for the benefit of Israel, is little more than a rehash of classic anti-Semitic tropes which is also rife with falsehoods.

Denying the Jewish People Their Right to Self-Determination

The “One State Conference” seeks to promote the destruction of Israel's Jewish character. Conference organizer Ahmed Moor says as much in a piece he wrote for the Huffington Post entitled, “Israel's Jewish Character Is Subject for Debate.”

The conference will feature a number of panels. Panel 7 deals with cultural identity, asking “What role should the state play in the maintenance of the national groups' identities? Will it be necessary to forge a new, shared identity in the new state?” It is interesting that this question should be addressed without a single pro-Israel panelist participating.

In addition, this is how the third panel is described on the website:

Many people with an intimate understanding of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict insist that the one-state solution is wholly impossible to implement. Worse, it is a recipe for protracted ethnic bloodshed. Could that be true?

Could it? Let's examine this issue. With a Jewish minority in Israel, Jews would face the same fate as ethnic and religious minorities in other Arab countries. For example:

·                     According to human rights activist and former Dutch parliamentarian Ayaan Hirsi Ali, The Sudanese government's sustained persecution of religious minorities culminated in the genocide in Darfur that began in 2003. Sudan's president, Omar al-Bashir, has been indicted by the International Criminal Court in The Hague, which charged him with three counts of genocide, and still the violence rages on.

·                     Saudi Arabia bars all public expressions of religion other than Wahhabi Islam and prohibits all non-Muslim houses of worship. Saudi police recently raided a private home and arrested 35 Christians who had gathered simply to pray.

·                     For decades, Coptic Christians have been second class citizens in Egypt where the building or even routine maintenance of a church was illegal, but since the fall of Hosni Mubarak violence against Christians has surged. Recently thousands of Muslims went on a rampage, attacking Copts, burning and looting Coptic homes and shops.

·                     In Iraq, church bombings are increasingly common. Since June of 2004, 70 churches have been bombed. Thousands have been killed and nearly one half of Iraqi Christians have fled the country.

·                     In Tunisia, the dominant political party, Ennahda, plans to institute Shariah law.

·                     In Libya, the head of the Tripoli Military Council once led an Islamic militia with links to al-Qaida. He intends to run for office in upcoming elections which makes Christians uneasy.

·                     Christians in Yemen are subject to abuse when they openly embrace their Christianity, with men being beaten and women harassed. They are not allowed even to bury their dead in the capital of Sana'a where all cemeteries are strictly Muslim.

·                     Since Hamas took over Gaza in 2007, the Christian community has been facing severe persecution, afraid to practice their religion publicly. In November of that year, a Christian bookstore was bombed and the store's manager tortured and murdered.

Harvard Pushing Propaganda

Perhaps little should be expected from Harvard when it comes to the subject of the Middle East. Harvard's Middle East Outreach Center, charged with providing curriculum materials to middle and high schools, has distinguished itself mostly by disseminating propaganda instead of scholarship. In addition, Harvard accepts millions in funding from Saudi Arabian princes and other wealthy Arab donors.

Even so, Harvard's Kennedy School Dean David T. Ellwood states, “Our mission is to train enlightened public leaders and generate the ideas that provide solutions to our most challenging public problems.” This conference is not likely to further that endeavor.

March 19 2011. With the passage of United Natons Security Council resolution 1973, the United States is set to go to war against Libya. By bowing to the will of the U.N. Security Council, President Obama is diluting the sovereign power of the United States. Only the US Congress can sanction a war.

Libya is a becoming an obstacle in the creation of the fundamentalists' "caliphate." The Obama Administration is making a huge mistake in getting involved in a local conflict, in the internal affairs of an islamic nation that does not share much with our values, principles or goals.

From GOPTrust (edited):

The battle to reign in public sector unions in Wisconsin is becoming an important issue for fiscal conservatives in decades.  Many of the unions are run by central planners in high places, they may have access to billions, like Soros, but are socialists and this is part of the conflict they have been planning for some time now.  Union thuggery and intimidation is one of the Obama master puppeteers to help their boy hang on to his presidency and ensure the permanent expansion of the federal government and the people infiltrated in low and high places there.  We need a plan to stop them. If Governor Scott Walker is successful in reigning in the government employee union's collective bargaining power and forcing them to pay their fair share of pension and healthcare contributions dozens of states will follow in his wake.  Ohio has already started! 14 Democrat lawmakers have cowardly fled Wisconsin and stalled progress.  The Wisconsin GOP has the votes to pass the bill but they need at least 1 of the gutless Democrats to be present to vote on the bill.  We have a message to the run-a-way Democrats - DO YOUR JOB!!  Some of our partners are preparing ads right now that will make them face their voters. Lacking political courage, Democrats in Indiana are copying the run-a-way Wisconsin Democrat lawmakers by fleeing their state to block voting on their own bill.  Other states are following suit.  Legislators in Ohio, Tennessee and Nevada introduced labor bills in their own states. Legislators in other states including Florida are in the process of putting their legislative proposals together. The unions have been a drain on state budgets for too long - it is time to reign in the madness and stand up for the American dream. If we don't stop the madness, Obama will be reelected and Democrats will take back the House and continue to own the U.S. Senate. With your help we will expose the people behind these unions and fight back and get the public on our side.States like Wisconsin and Ohio are facing a $3.6 billion and an $8 billion dollar budget gap respectively.  States all across the country are facing unmanageable debt.  The only way for them to address this debt without implementing massive tax increases is to address out of control spending due in large part to the un-fundable handouts given to public sector unions. STOP THE SOCIALIST AGENDA . Join N. A. L.

Police and federal agents say House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Peter King (R-NY) is correct in saying they don't get many tips from Muslims. In interviews with the New York Daily News, counterterrorism and intelligence officials with the FBI and NYPD explained some of the similarities - and differences - between radical Islamists and criminal organizations like the Mafia, drug cartels and the MS-13.

"Criminals are criminals. It gets dicier because Muslim extremists wrap their work in religion, but the smokescreens, the silence and intimidation are similar," an FBI source said. What makes Islamist terror different "is the risk – the extent of the damage, the number of people who can get hurt."

Islamist groups like the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the Muslim American Society (MAS) deride King for investigating radical Islam in the United States, calling Thursday's hearing a "political stunt" by a lawmaker who is biased against Muslims.

SCOTT WHEELER'S COLUMN
The Obama administration’s handling of Egypt reveals a level of incompetence that renders the U.S. - and the entire world – a more dangerous place. In the early days of the protests in Egypt, the terrorist group Muslim Brotherhood stayed on the sidelines. This was out of fear that Mubarak would come for them, and well he should have considering the Brotherhood has tried to assassinate him in the past. The moment Obama turned on Mubarak, the Muslim Brotherhood officially joined the protests and began organizing the opposition.

Meanwhile, Leftist groups in the U.S., which are allied with Obama, were already angling to help the Muslim Brotherhood in its quest for at least a share of the power in Egypt.

Mr. Obama you are NO Ronald Reagan, not even close

By Guido George Lombardi

I cannot believe the absurd statements made recently by so-called political commentators who try to find parallels between Barack Obama and Ronald Reagan. The two men could not be more opposite. Let's face it, President Reagan stood tall and strong against this nation and the West worst enemy: International Communism, at that time enbodied in the former Soviet Union. Since President Reagan early days in politics, even as representative of the actors workers union, he always recognized communist ideology for what it is, an evil, distorted view of man and the world, and a political system that enslaves people and nations on the false promise of a utopian man-made, materialistic, atheistic world. Mr. Obama does the opposite, it tries to please our enemies, islamic fundamentalists, bent on destroying Judeo-Christian values and culture. Mr. Obama has been and continues to be, in word and in fact (apponting extreme liberals, even radicals to important posts in the US Governments and its agencies), a lover of radical men, women and causes, let's call them by their old name : communists. Ronald Reagan was a deeply religious man, proud of his evangelical tradition and his Judeo-Christian heritage, certainly not a pro-islamic activist like Mr. Obama and his family.
President Reagan displayed courage but also love, courage and strenght in dealing with evil, love when confronting those who admitted to their mistakes and wanted genuine reconciliation.
We could write hundreds of pages on the fundamental differences between these two men, and I hope many of you who read these lines will do so (better than me), but for whoever met and lived at the time of one of the greatest Presidents we ever had in this United States of America we know that you, Mr. Obama are no Ronald Reagan.  :

Lybian "war" Europe falls in the Obama trap

Like unaware pawns, European allies fall for the Obama "holy war" against the evil Lybian dictator Gheddafy.
Of course they do not see as far as the day after tomorrow, when MILLIONS of false refugees will invade european nations to dounle the millions already living there. They will force politicians to allow Shariah laws and eventually force them to allow even more immigrants. The IMMIGRATION WARS are here. The Obama Administration is well aware that the beginning of the war in Lybia will eventually involve other north african and arab nations, This is just a ploy to keep his name on the Presidential ballot in 2012.

This is so true, George. You are Absolutely right. Those who are keeping up on what is going on do see the connections with what O and the liberals are doing. I just posted the following quote from an article I posted earlier today: "Barack Obama hastened to declare in his Friday afternoon statement what it would not entail - no US troops on the ground, and somebody else will lead it. Now at first glance it might appear he is merely being cautious – limiting our exposure to minimize any unfortunate foreign or domestic fallout should the television images get unpleasant . . .** but one cannot help but suspect that the motive is less to minimize the US role than it is to exalt that of the UN and other supra-national organizations, such as the Arab League, and all of the NGO camp followers that normally feed off such international coalitions. "
The Progressives are instigating the riots - "Day of Rage" (a 60's radical left term) - in the Middle East to overturn things so they can implement a lot of their agenda while we are distracted.
There IS a method to their madness!

As we witness the dramatic events in Japan, a great economic wave will impact Asia and to a smaller extent Europe.
More important, the causes of the recent earthquakes in Chile, South America, Indonesia, and now Japan, should not dismissed as simple "coincidences," but scientifically analysed for "pacific patterns."
As the economy of Japan flickers, and as Asian nations reset their economic goals and objectives, social and political "waves" will become more evident and take the people of these nations in unpredictable directions.

The Battle Between Iran and Saudi Arabia

.....  Bahrain is the perfect example and test case. An island off the coast of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia are linked by a causeway. For most purposes, Bahrain is part of Saudi Arabia. Unlike Saudi Arabia, it is not a major oil producer, but it is a banking center. It is also the home of the U.S. 5th Fleet, and has close ties to the United States. GNEII (pronounced “genie”) underscores the nonproliferation elements of Sandia’s mission, which include helping train targeted professionals worldwide on the safe and secure handling of materials that are, or could ultimately become, a threat to U.S. national security or the safety of U.S. citizens. Through the institute, Sandia seeks to introduce safety and security concepts and practices so that nations with emerging nuclear energy economies can prevent terrorists from obtaining dangerous materials and operate their nuclear plants safely. Governments in other parts of the world have expressed interest in GNEII-like institutes and the program will become a model for other regional programs.....
