Summer 2018 Exhibition - by Ian Simm

7 July - 25 Aug 2018

Faith, Hope and Determination, brings this Summer Exhibition to The Norman Cross Art Gallery as it welcomes local artist Ian Simm to his first solo exhibition.

Ian is an exceptional artist whose’ s story is inspiring to all, and an example that through adversity one can triumph, if one has belief in one’s ability, hope, commitment and dedication to their art.
In 2009 Ian had a serious Stroke which left him unable to use his right hand and was extremely fortunate to survive. In December 2012 while on a 3-week cruise, Ian found a new awakening; Art.
Since then he has taught himself to paint, initially in watercolour and then acrylics and eventually oil paint and has shown amazing skill in all three disciplines but has conquered what most fear, oils.

Ian brings to the exhibition his multi- talented skills as an accomplished artist and equally demonstrates his passion to continue to develop and learn through the different media and genre of art. When asked what kind of art you like, is response is… “All Art”.

This exhibition is an inspirational celebration of Ian’s work and commitment to his art which is on display to the viewer at the gallery for the summer exhibition.
