The Wedding Project is one of the two  major projects  for this semester.  The project is a detailed plan that includes all the family, social and legal steps that need to be taken in order to get married.

All materials for the project must be presented in a three ring or photographic binder and will include the following material:

  • The wedding date, location and officiant
  • Photocopies of the necessary legal forms such as birth certificate, marriage license, change of name forms (if necessary) and parental waivers for underage couples
  • A prenuptial agreement and related forms
  • A copy of your engagement announcement and engagement photos
  • A complete list of wedding guests including their names, addresses and phone numbers
  • A copy of your wedding invitation and RSVP cards
  • Pictures of the engagement and wedding rings
  • Members of the bridal party including maid/matron of honour, bestman, bridesmaids, groomsmen, ringbearer and flower girl
  • Copies of the speeches to be presented by the groom, the bestman et al
  • Pictures of the wedding apparel for the bride, groom and bridal party
  • Copies of the wedding vows
  • Reception arrangments including location, menu, caterer, emcee, deejay
  • A list of the music you want played throughout your ceremony (burning a CD is advisable)
  • Photographer or videographer and an outline of the pictures or videos you want taken
  • Honeymoon arrangements

The above list is just a sample of the arrangements that need to be made in order to have a successful wedding ceremony and celebration.  There are many more items that go into the planning of a wedding.  Wedding planners and wedding planning checklists are available on the internet or at most bridal boutiques.

  • The final item that must be included in your project is an itemized and detailed cost accounting for all the items that go into making up your celebration.  These costs must be both current and accurate.
