Artist Norik Antonyan was born on 11 November 1952 in Armenia.
He started drawing at a very early age. His source of inspiration comes from the marvellous landscapes and rich culture of his homeland, especially the medieval architectural, monuments , and wonderful miniatures.
Norik Antoniyan was first educated as an artist in Yerevan. He finished Art School of Hakob Kodjoyan in 1968, and then went on to the college of Panos Terlemeian in Yerevan which he finished in 1972, later he graduated from the Higer College of Art V.I. Mukhina in Leningrad (Saint Petersburg).
After his studies he returned to Armenia, where he began working as an artist, during this time he was also teaching in a center of artistic behaviour. In a short period of time he produce a large range of art and ceramic works, along with several monumental bas-relief sculptures in Yerevan and other regions in Armenia.
In 1990 he became the member of the Artist's Association of Armenia and in 1994 a member of International Artists of UNESCO.
Norik Antonyan actively takes part in many exhibitions in Armenia and abroad.
The drawings of Norik Antonyan are highly regarded among the many artists. His works are attractive and charming to the eye, with their active colour harmonies and wonderful use of light that seems to breath life in to each piece. Drawing on the Armenian traditions in art, Norik has been able to create a uniquely timeless style all of his own.
Norik Antonyan's exhibitions have been very well received in Armenia, Russia, Ukraine, Canada, U.S.A., France, Germany, Norway, Bulgaria, Belgium and many other countries. His works can be found in the museums and private collections in many different countries.
