Noreen Hegarty, artist was born in Cobh, Co. Cork, Ireland. She now lives in Ballincollig, Co Cork with her husband Denis. She paints every morning. Most afternoons, (weather permitting) she is out and about capturing new scenes with her camera.

Her husband and herself both love to travel especially to Greece and Turkey.

She paints in oils and acrylics. She has been painting for over 30 years. Her paintings reveal a remarkable understanding of light and colour. Her style is loose fresh and vibrant. Her formative years as a child in Cobh, Co.Cork, were spent surrounded by landscapes, seascapes and woodlands of untamed beauty.

Her work in photography is key to her work as a painter. The principal of composition, colour and painting come naturally to her. Autumn is a theme explored again and again. She continually captures the tranquil atmosphere and mood which draws the observer into the painting and beyond. Her work can be found in private collections throughout Ireland, Europe and USA.
