Noel Park Conservation Area

Noel Park holds an important place in architectural history. The estate was developed by the Artisans and General Dwellings Company as one of the first garden suburbs in the world and was formally opened in 1883. The homes complement each other, with similar details in the brickwork, windows and doors. Many of the original features that are still intact, such as windows and doors, were built in workshops on site.

Noel Park is still a special place today. As urban sprawl has surrounded the estate over the years, it has become “a village in the city”. In 1982, Haringey Council recognized the architectural and historic importance of Noel Park and designated it an Article 4 Conservation area. This means that no changes can be made to the exterior of any property without permission from the Haringey Conservation Planning department.
