BURBANK MAYOR & CITY COUNCIL & CITY MANAGER

City Council has postponed setting a public hearing for the proposed Brace Canyon cell tower until after our city's new wireless ordinance is adopted, possibly at the end of 2010.   It's imperative that we be pro-active and send them and our City Manager e-mails and letters about our concern and ask them to say "No" to the proposed Brace Canyon park cell tower in our neighborhood and near our schools and church.

BURBANK CITY PLANNING BOARD
Also call the Planning Board Members and tell them how you feel, because they're the ones who approve permits for wireless towers in our city and neighborhoods.  You are going to be sharing your concerns with them at the public hearings for those cell towers proposed near your homes and schools.  Request that the Board Members ask any applicants seeking to install a cell tower near schools and homes find an alternative available location instead.

The City of Burbank does not have individual e-mail addresses for its board members.  Instead, you can e-mail them at planning@ci.burbank.ca.us, but you need to ask the Planning Department to forward your e-mail onto each of the members of the board:

The Community Development Department reviews and presents proposed building permits and projects to the Planning Board for approval or denial.  Tell Mr. Forbes how you feel about the proposed Brace Canyon park wireless tower located in a single family residential neighborhood (R-1 zoned).  It's not just an unhealthy nuisance, but unaesthetic, and not fitting in with the character of our neighborhood.  Tell him also that the Planning Board study about wireless facilities needs to include community input, and not just input from the wireless industry.

Michael Forbes, Asst. Community Development Director/City Planner: mforbes@ci.burbank.ca.us

Also cc: Assistant Planner Amanda Klotzche, who is overseeing the drafting of the city's new wireless facility ordinance: aklotzsche@ci.burbank.ca.us
