New Scout Information, Volunteering and Merit Badges

IMPORTANT ITEMS TO KNOW AS A NEW BOY SCOUT
 Your Council is:  Crossroad of America

This website will give you places, dates and times your boy scout can earn additional merit badges and additional boy scout training throughout the state of Indiana outside of the troop regular activities
Your scout can arrange to do these outside activities with boys in his patrol,  in the troop or by himself and make new friends

Here are two great day camps for new scouts or scouts wanting to complete requirements or get new badges:

DAN BEARD - CAMP BELZER, IN
This one week day camp is for the new scout to earn a lot of his Tenderfoot, 2nd and 1st class requirements. 
The camp is given multiple weeks during the summer, pick the week that works for you.
Take the camp with another new scout and car pool.
Your scout can only take this camp once.

BADEN POWELL - CAMP BELZER, IN
Merit Badge Camp
This day camp you can earn up to six Merit Badges in a week
The badges are eagle required and non-eagle required
You can take this camp multiple weeks earning different badges each week. They offer up to 23 different badges.

Forms to be completed for every scout, every year
1. Every scout must have an updated physical by a Doctor every year in order to go to camp.
2. The Emergency Information form needs to be completed each year



VOLUNTEERING
 As a Scout you are required to give back to the community and earn service hours. 
The hours you volunteer will be recorded in the back of your scouting book.
 Here is an option where you can earn service hours.
