Gathering of Quilters 2013

The Gathering of Quilters …is just that.

On the third Saturday in March quilters come together from northern Indiana, southern Michigan, western Ohio, eastern Illinois and points beyond to share their craft.  The group has grown from just a handful in 1990 to around 800 attendees in 2012. Various quilt guilds take turns hosting this quilter’s fun day, by engaging a speaker, presenting a quilt show, sponsoring a vendors’ mall and just about anything else they think quilters would enjoy.  The Noble Nimble Thimbles hosted the event in 2012 and are excited to be doing so again.   However, we are diligently seeking a quilt club to host the event in 2014.  It is not too soon to begin preparations for the 24th annual Gathering...

What’s in store for 2013…

Our featured speaker is Karen Witt from Winchester, KY.  Karen specializes in the history of quilting, the use of reproduction fabrics and the creation of quilts with historic significance.  Vendors will be offering a variety of shopping opportunities. Traditional events such as the Ugly Fabric Exchange and Challenge, the annual Block Swap, and Show and Tell will give attendees chances to participate in the fun.  Local quilters will present a quilt show of both new and vintage quilts.  We will also be hosting the Hoffman Challenge quilts and the Color Journey exhibit.   There will be many door prizes thanks to the generosity of our vendors, advertisers and sponsors.

Doors will open at 8AM with guest check-in from 8-9. The program will begin at 9AM with our speaker's presentation beginning at 10AM.

Vendor booths will be open from 8AM-4PM (closed during speaker's presentation)
