Dr. Nitya Nand Gosvami completed his B. Tech. degree with honors, in Metallurgical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology-Banaras Hindu University (IIT-BHU) in India in 2003 and completed his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering at the National University of Singapore, in collaboration with Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE) under the supervision of Dr. Sean O'Shea, Prof. Sujeet K. Sinha and Prof. M. P. Srinivasan in 2008. He joined the research group of Prof. Roland Bennewitz at Leibniz Institute for New Materials (INM) in Germany as a Postdoctoral Scientist in March 2008 and was later awarded Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship. During April-March, 2008, he was a visiting scientist at the Department of Physics at McGill University in Canada. In October 2010, he joined University College London in the United Kingdom as a Research Associate under Prof. Susan Perkin (now at University of Oxford) and worked in collaboration with Prof. Bart Hoogenboom at the London Center for Nanotechnology. In September 2012, he joined the research group of Prof. Robert Carpick in the Department of Mechanical Engineering & Applied Mechanics at the University of Pennsylvania in the United States where he worked as a Research Project Manager in Carpick Research Group. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Mechanics at the Indian Institute of Technology-Delhi
