HTI expands international relationships

Firm reveals major growth in overseas markets.

HTI has recently signed new contracts with several international companies following success at the toy fairs in London and Nuremberg.

New retail partnerships have been made in 15 countries across three different continents including deals with Babycenter in the Middle East; Walmart in Canada and America and worldwide deals with Toys R Us and Carrefour. A key partnership was also made with HTI Russia.

With offices and showrooms in the UK, Hong Kong and Germany, HTI has a global presence and operates in over 70 countries worldwide.

Over 25 per cent of the group’s revenues (year ending March 31st) are now being generated from non-UK markets and demand is increasing rapidly with customers including retailers, distributors and mail order companies.

Internationally popular brands developed under licence include Hello Kitty, JCB, Zanussi and Spiderman products and popular in-house brands include the Smart role-play range, the Teamsterz range of vehicles, garages and track set and the Razzle Dazzle girls’ beauty collection.

Najib Fayad, international sales director, HTI, described the market as being resilient over the past few years both within the UK and abroad.

He said “The worldwide toy industry is a fast moving market and we have stayed competitive by continuing to significantly invest in product research, global manufacturing and in our global infrastructure.

“It is our large portfolio of affordable and innovative products and our commitment to partnering with high profile brands that has allowed us to increase the number of partnerships with overseas retailers and to subsequently drive sales.”
