  • TAP: The rhythm and movement of tap, created by the metal taps on the heels and toes of a dancer’s shoes, transforms the dancer into a percussive musician. Tap dance emphasizes the flow of movement by teaching the dancer to find rhythms and beats not only in music but in their own bodies.

Jazz classes can be patterned in any of these styles or a combination of them. Emphasis is on the importance of energy, rhythmical accuracy, and style. Each level of jazz is a continuation of the previous level and increases in difficulty.

  • FITNESS PILATES: Pilates is a body conditioning routine that helps build flexibility, muscle strength, and endurance in the legs, abdominals, arms, hips, and back. It puts emphasis on spinal and pelvic alignment, breathing, and developing a strong core or center, and improving coordination and balance. Pilates’ system allows for different exercises to be modified in range of difficulty from beginning to advanced. Intensity can be increased over time as the body conditions and adapts to the exercises.

  • YOGA (Hot Vinyasa Flow): Yoga, like life, is about being present in the moment. The word Vinyasa means “breath-synchronized movement. In class you will be instructed to move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale like moving meditation. Yoga flow, or “vinyasa” yoga, connects each pose or asana to the next, dynamically linking movement with breath while creating heat and stamina in the body. The length of each inhale and exhale typically determines the length of time held in each posture. The challenging, flowing class is taught in a heated room with a focus on stability, stamina, freedom and FUN! The poses are simple and easy to learn with room to vary and elaborate as students progress.

Yoga can be as much or as little as you want it to be. For some it is purely a physical pursuit, keeping the body toned, strong and flexible. For others, yoga becomes more of a mindset and a way of living, a way to help bring balance to your day. Whatever your reason for practicing, or your level of experience – we welcome you!

Everyone can practice yoga. Regardless of age, experience, or level of flexibility – we can all benefit from yoga if we maintain “mental flexibility”…patience. The atmosphere in class is friendly, supportive and attitude-free. We offer a variety of active and meditative yoga classes to help bring balance to your day.
