SHORT AND SWEET !!!
ok here it goes ..
Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai .. Written & directed by Milap Zaveri .. Starring Ritesh Deshmukh and Jacqueline Fernandez .. Average publicity and interesting plot .. So is Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai worth your time?
Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai is frank, simple and funny with a sweet first half but indigestible second half.
Story is about
One night, a girl from venus (Jacqueline Fernandez)lands up in the arms of Rajesh Parekh (Ritesh Deshmukh), who is an assistant director and a loser. Rajesh has no clue about her identity and he takes her to his house. He names her Tara. He later discovers that Tara is from venus and is in search of love from earth. Tara asks him to help her in searching for the perfect love for her.
Milap Zaveri who earlier was the writer of some hit films debut as a director through this movie. His direction is really very good as he kept everything in the movie very light. Be it comedy or be it romance, it’s done convincingly which makes him a good director. Story is interesting but not absorbable. The characters of the story are good. Milap Zaveri should have worked more on the story to make it far more interesting than this but he smartly overshadowed that with screenplay. Screenplay is upbeat and just what a rom-com needs but is written a bit carelessly. First half is too good. It’s entertaining and the narration of the movie goes with the right pace. Second half is good in the start but later on gets quite slow. The romantic moments between Ritesh Deshmukh and Jacqueline Fernandez are very less and a bit weak to make the climax believable. The climax is a huge turn-off. It’s very bad and also spoils some good parts of the movie to an extent. Cinematography is okay. Just what needed. Editing is good. Dialogues are not that promising. Music is very nice. Title track, Keh Do Zara and Koi Rok Bhi Lo, all of them are really very melodious. Koi Rok Bhi Lo’s lyrics could have been better. Background score is unexpectedly well.
Performances are lovely. Ritesh Deshmukh is alluring. He portrays the lead role perfectly. Jacqueline Fernandez is fabulous. Her acting is too sweet and cute. Apart from her stunning beauty, she is talented to the core. Vishal Malhotra and Satish Shah are very funny. Sonal Sehgal is nice but her character gets too weak in the second half. Ruslaan Mumtaaz is good but he hardly speaks anything other than some long typically filmy-shayari type dialogues. Supriya Pilgaonkar is okay. All the special appearances are fine especially Akshay Kumar’s.
So the bottom line is
Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai is a nice and a time-pass movie. If
the story was written more cautiously then it would have been wonderful.
The weakness of the romantic moments and the bad climax affects the fun of the
movie. Also the romantic moments were very less. Nonetheless, it’s a time-pass
watch for sure because of its length (2 hours) and it’s a better offering for the
week. Funny moments, characters, performances and the music are the reasons to
watch Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai. You won’t be that disappointed with this one.
