Venturing Crew 276 Goes to Training Course

BYRAM — Members from Venture Crew 276 in Byram Township attended a 4-day training course called Powder Horn at Goose Pond Scout Reservation in the NEPA Boy Scout Council (Northeastern Pennsylvania Council). Powder Horn is a training course designed to expose Scouting Adults and Youth (14 years or older) to the resources necessary to operate a successful high adventure program for their unit. This action-packed, hands-on outdoor course provided:

• An introduction to a variety of resources necessary to provide a robust outdoor program

• Knowledge of how to identify local resources and consultants for high adventure activities

• Knowledge of the health and safety requirements, as well as the rules and regulations of the Boy Scouts of America as they apply to the outdoor programs.

Crew 276 was honored to be among the first youth participants in the Northeast Region, Area 5 Powder Horn 2013 course.

This Powder Horn course introduced or expanded their knowledge in numerous skills and activities
