The Institute for Nonperturbative Physics (INP) in the School of Physics at Nanjing University (NJU-INP) is seeking exceptional candidates to fill a number of postdoctoral positions in modern nuclear and particle theory. Each position would normally open in Autumn 2026, but earlier starting dates are possible.
Each position is for two years in the first instance, with possible extension to a third year, contingent upon performance.
Staff and early-career researchers at the INP have broad ranging interests and expertise in a wide variety of areas, including hadron physics, quantum field theory, emergent phenomena, and physics beyond the standard model. They play a leading role in motivating experiments at many of the world's leading facilities; and are actively involved in numerous collaborations with scientists from around the world. The INP has an active Visitor Programme, attracting and encouraging scientific exchange between institutes both nationally and internationally.
For additional information about the INP and/or the nature of our open positions, contact:
Craig Roberts, Head - INP cdroberts@nju.edu.cn
Those interested in applying for one of these postdoctoral positions should submit the following material via Email Email to cdroberts@nju.edu.cn, quoting Position No. 251229 in the subject field:
curriculum vitae, including a complete list of publications, conference and invited presentations, etc.
one-page statement of research accomplishments and interests.
and arrange for three letters of reference to be sent to the same Email address, also quoting Position No. 251229 in the subject field. All items should be submitted as PDF files.
Applicants should have a PhD in areas of theoretical physics germane to the INP's interests or anticipate receiving such a degree soon.
In addition to receiving support from NJU-INP, postdoctoral fellows in China may apply for grants from both provincial and national funding agencies. Furthermore, exceptional performance during the postdoctoral fellowship can be a stepping stone toward a tenure-track appointment at NJU. As noted above, for additional information, simply contact Craig Roberts, Head - INP cdroberts@nju.edu.cn.
To receive fullest consideration, applications should be received by 2025 December 29. Note that review of applications will begin immediately, and the search will continue until all positions are filled.
