New Jersey Mathematics and Science Coalition

Bylaws C March 1995, revised March 2007 and October 2007

I.  PURPOSE OF ORGANIZATION

The New Jersey Mathematics and Science Coalition is committed to an energetic and sustained program of action to improve mathematics and science education and the public's understanding of mathematics and science.  To accomplish this end, the Coalition will promote the exchange of perspectives among businesses and industry, public policy makers, the general public, the media, and professional educators.  The Coalition will act as a forum to seek shared viewpoints and will serve as a focus for collaborative actions that will change and improve mathematics and science education as reflected in the publications of national mathematics and science education organizations.  The Coalition will support the many successful on-going programs in the state's public, private and parochial schools, as well as in its two and four year colleges.  Additionally, the Coalition will identify and encourage the development of new initiatives to improve mathematics and science education.
