MORE DETAIL ABOUT CAMP LOHIKAN

      • PROCESS

        • We're issued a contract to sign and return with 10% deposit

        • Full balance paid to them no later than 30 days prior to event

          • they will issue a refund if we overpay.

          • the Pathways/Connection Tax exempt status (will need to include a certificate or other proof to submit with contract) which helps us avoid from paying PA sales tax.

      • ACCESS

        • inlcuded in our fee: access to hiking trails, indoor gym/meeting area, outdoor lit tennis and basketball courts, skate park, softball and soccer field, fishing, biking trails, lake and canoe use allowed when a certified lifeguard is present (1 lifeguard per 20 people).

        • Meals - I have to ask what they consider meals but for now assume like:

          • Breakfast: eggs, cereal, muffins, juices, coffee, tea

          • Lunch: burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, pasta, corn, melons, salads

          • Dinner: fried chicken, pork chops, ???

          • Lunch/Dinner can be served outdoors as a BBQ.

          • We can request various menu items/dishes, but may have to pay more depending on whether it includes more expensive items.

    • TENTATIVE PROGRAM

      • OTHER ACTIVITIES

        • Any activity you see on the website that requires safety instructors requires we pay the respective instructor by the hour (just as with a certified lifeguard). Fees are generally $25/hour. So if we wanted to do any rock climbing, trampolie bungie jumping, high/low rope scampering, we will need to hire an instrucor. AND since they will be there anyway --- we can request for them pretty much on fly - like the day before.

      • HOUSING

        • Counslers attending the orientation will have all the Lodges booked (houses 1-4 people)

        • We will only have access to the cabins (2nd photo along left column of the http://www.lohikan.com/groups.htm webpage. Walls are thin, so we will need to remind folks to bring ear plugs. There are smaller rooms which sleep 8 with bunk beds.

        • We may want to assign beds by friendships or by early sleepers vs late sleepers.

      • CAMPERS' TO BRING LIST

      • NOTE TO CAMPERS

        • when I was there 6 years ago - cell service was limited to several outdoor spots.

        • wireless internet extremely questionable.
