Books, Audiobooks, Languages and Religion
Welcome to my personal website. My name is Nicholas J. Bridgewater. I'm currently a postgraduate student of linguistics at SOAS, University of London. This page will be divided into several sections, including an Academic Page, where I will put dissertations, articles, etc. which I have written; a page listing some of my solo audiobooks on Librivox; a page listing some old, public domain books which I have scanned; and a page related to the Bahá’í scriptures and other related materials.
I also have a blog, which can see here. It's called "Crossing the Bridge", which is a reference to the "Bridge" in Zoroastrian scriptures, the Qur'án and the Bábí and Bahá’í scriptures. To attain unto Paradise, one must cross this Bridge. The Bridge, of course, is the Manifestation of God Himself. I have chosen this title because it relates to my own name "Bridgewater". The water can be taken to refer to the "Point of Water" mentioned in the Qayyúmu'l-Asmá'. My family has had this surname since the early 19th century and it comes originally from the name of a city in the south of England. My patrilinear ancestors, however, come from Shropshire and Herefordshire, not from the town of Bridgwater (without an "e").
