Training Schedule

The training schedule for Fall 2013 (beginning Thursday, August 15) is:

Note that, on some weeks, Saturday training will be moved to Friday evening.  In those cases, training would be at Sensei's house from 6:30-8:00pm.  We will do our best to inform the club of schedule changes via the Google group and will keep the club calendar up to date.

For trainings at the Movement Arts Studio, the last part of class (about 30 minutes) has typically been allotted for self-training time.  This semester, with an increased number of advanced students, we will be holding advanced training during the last part of these classes.  On Thursday evenings, the instructor will run a short advanced training focused on kumite, which will be open to purple belts and above.  On Sunday evenings, the class will be focused on advanced kata, and anyone is welcome to join in the training.  Participation in the advanced classes is optional, and anyone who does not participate is encouraged to use the time for self-training.  During this time, the instructors will not be available to answer individual questions.

Remember that on days when you are not training in the dojo, you should practice your karate for at least 5-10 minutes.  Even just practicing things like stances, kata, or even just stretching every day will help your karate to improve tremendously.  If you would like ideas of what kinds of training you can do on your own each day, feel free to ask Sensei before or after class.
