Groves joins Speakers' Panel

posted 23 Aug 2010, 07:52 by Jane Lambert   [ updated 4 Sept 2010, 03:25 ]

Solicitor, blogger, writer, podcaster and runner Peter Groves has just joined NIPC's list of speakers.

Groves is a consultant at CJ Jones Solicitors LLP and heads their IP and IT Law Department.

He also keeps the excellent IPso Jure Blog, contributes to the Solo Independent IP Practitioners blog, manages the IPso Jure group on Linkedin, lectures for Central Law Training and Quorum, distributes monthly podcasts on IP and technology law and his Dictionary of Intellectual Property Law will be published shortly by Edward Elgar Publishing Ltd.

Writing in the Solo Independent IP Practitioners blog on 6 June 2010, Professor Jeremy Phillips remarked:

"Our esteemed SOLO IP colleague Peter Groves is far too modest to blow his own trumpet on this weblog, but the information below (largely reproduced from a recent post on the IPKat weblog) looks like good news for IP practitioners who do not work for large practices or for companies with the resources to send them off to fancy conferences and seminars in order to satisfy continuing professional development (CPD) requirements.

In short, IP practitioners in the UK can secure CPD credits by listening to a monthly podcast and completing a short multichoice questionnaire. The IPso Jure Lawcast is produced each month by Peter, a solicitor with nearly 30 years’ experience in the field and the author of several books and many articles, covering the important developments affecting practitioners in England."

Peter and I will be presenting the Introduction to IP course at Morgan Cole in Oxford on 6, 13, 20 and 27 October. He will also join me at Portsmouth to give the IP Foundation Course in Portsmouth on 28 September 2010.
