A place to get cought up on the doings of Nili.

Thursday

Sorry I haven't written anything in a week.  Things have been busy at work, as usual, and I never seem to think of updating the old "blog-and-chain" when I get home (I'm sneaking a bit of personal time at my desk after lunch to write this.  Don't worry though, I'll make up for it by coming in early tomorrow).   Although I am swamped here at work, I really do enjoy it.  I am working on some cutting edge stuff and I get to do it with a bunch of people who are way smarter than me.

Monday night dinner was fun.  We had some friends over and made an overly fancy dinner for no particular reason.  Of course I didn't quite make it to bed on time.   I guess that normal people don't go to bed at 9 pm.  No mater how early we eat, we always end up hanging around finishing/opening another bottle of wine until everyone realizes that I'm half asleep and clears out.

I 'm looking forward to lunch tomorrow with James and Van and then of course to happy hour at Severino's.  Nothing caps of a week, good or bad, like a $2.25 pint of Guinness and a free taco (or two or three (Guinnei, not tacos)).  Not sure if I'm gonna do Shabbat dinner with the folks and early to bed, or head off for some debauchery with the yahoos after the hour of happy.  I'll play it by ear ; )

That reminds me, last weekend was fun but he bar crawl just isn't the same since they closed the Garage (the dirtiest, stinkiest and most fun bar down town).  Now we have no where to go between the Catalyst and the Rush Inn.  That's like a quarter mile with no bar stop and it cuts the total down to five.  Everyone knows you have to have at least six bars on a decent crawl.  We tried stopping at Rosie's but that place sucks, and there was a cover... double suck!!  We'll see how it goes this weekend.  You never know, something crazy, new and interesting might happen... but I'm not counting on it.
