Nikolaos Pateromichelakis MSc -ing

Research and Development Engineer, in the field of mechatronics, robotics, intelligent mechanisms and applications. Computer Aided Design, additive and subtractive processes, materials, FEM, modelling and simulating of mechatronic systems, microcontrollers, programming, low-level control systems, measurement technology.

Short CV

Nikos was born in Greece in 1981. He holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Technological Educational Institute of Crete in Greece, and an MSc in Mechatronics from FH Aachen, Germany.

In 2007 he joined the Computational V
ision and Robotics Laboratory at FORTH, Greece, as an R&D Engineer. There, he participated in several European research programs developing prototypes and conducting experiments mainly in the areas of bio-inspired and medical robotics.

In 2012 he became member of the research team of Aldebaran Robotics, France, developing novel mechatronic solutions in the area of humanoid robots.

In 2015 he joined the Centre for Intelligent Machines at McGill University in Canada and Independent Robotics Inc, leading the mechatronic development of the next generation of the Aqua robot.

Parts of his work have been published in three Journals and fourteen conference papers, and he holds four national patents.
