Let's face it, in the UK, winter isn't fantastic for home grown food. Root vegetables and brassicas are our friends along with lentils, fruit, nuts and dates. However, we do have the amazing new season imported oranges, tangerines and dates, which give some zing to our food. It is also a great time for fish such as pollock, clams, hake, brill, scallops and turbot.
