Women in Planetary Science

Niebur Consulting has begun an effort to gather statistics and stories on Women in Planetary Science in order to bring attention to the work of female planetary scientists, who are currently underrepresented on NASA mission teams.  Resources include a weekly blog, several email lists, twitter support, and an annual networking breakfast at NASA's Lunar and Planetary Science Conference.

A new project, interviewing and creating profiles of women involved in NASA's planetary science program, will begin in January 2010.  For more information, read the

Statistics on the representation of women on NASA planetary science missions have been published in the November issue of Space Policy (doi:10.1016/j.spacepol.2009.08.003).  A preprint of this work can be downloaded using the link below.
