Rules & Expectations
  • You must have a physical & concussion form on file in the athletic office.
  • Follow the Nicolet High School policies.
  • Anyone using alcohol, tobacco, or drugs will be dismissed from the team. These are not the type of athletes we want representing Nicolet High School Cross Country.
  • All athletes are expected to attend all practices. Practice will begin promptly at 2:50pm.
  • Athletes may not participate in another non-school sport during cross country season.  Our season is demanding, and competing in another sport during the cross country season increases the risk of injury to an unacceptable level. Outside coaching during the season is prohibited.
  • Bullying: intimidation of weaker person: the process of intimidating or mistreating somebody weaker or in a more vulnerable situation (definition). This type of behavior is unacceptable. This type of behavior can be used through text messages, social media, face-to-face, etc. If this type of behavior is presentthe athlete will be removed from the team immediately.
  • NO Hazing
  • Nicolet XC Meet Travel Policy - All athletes are expected to ride the team bus to and from all meets. You may travel home with your parent/guardian at the conclusion of the meet.  A travel release form must be signed prior to leaving.  If there is a unique situation where you need to leave the meet early, you must make arrangements in advance with Coach Piaskowy.
  • Parents will be notified in a timely manner of any rule or expectation violations.
  • Violation of team rules or expectations may result in being withheld from a meet or dismissal from the team

  • Attend each class and be an active learner in all classes.

  • Respect all staff members at any educational facility and athletic facility.
  • Attend each practice and execute in all aspects of practice to the best of your ability.
  • Execute proper safety and courtesy at all practices and events.
  • Search for and accept new challenges.
  • Be a responsible user of social media sites.
  • Trust and believe in teammates, teachers, coaches, and administrators.
  • Follow all team and school rules before, during, and after practice, when in season and not in season.
  • Off Campus Practice Policy - Returning athletes that did not participate in a spring sport must be able to complete 1 mile in 8:30 minutes or under in order to be allowed to practice beyond the Nicolet school grounds.
  • Meet Entry Policy - Nicolet Cross Country is an open program, however, prior to participating in a 5k cross country meet, the athlete must meet the requirements listed below.  These fitness requirements are in place with the athlete's best interest in mind.  If an athlete does not meet the requirements, he/she will have the opportunity, on a weekly basis, to achieve them.
    • Run a 5k without walking.
    • Girls run a 5k in under 31 min (or equivalent).  Boys run a 5k in under 29 min (or equivalent).
    • Coach's discretion.
