Theodore Tugboat

A full size, sea-going tugboat featuring the Canadian children's favourite Theodore Tugboat.

My role in this project was supervision of production of the head, cap, funnel and moving eyes mechanism.

Design was by Fred Allen        and the marine architect was Marius Langkeek.

The upper structure (hat, head, cabin, smokestack) were all structural fibreglass designed to withstand gales at sea.

The Tugboat was called Theodore Too.  We loaded him at our shop. Painting was done after installation on the tug. The eyes move from side to side.

The nose in production.

 Theodore's website is http://www.theodoretugboat.ca

Theodore's cap was fitted after the launch.  The cap itself is 10ft diameter, weighs about the same as a medium sized car.
