Welcome to my webpage. I am an associate professor in the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics at the University of Georgia. Before joining UGA I was a research fellow at the International Food Policy Research Institute.

My research focuses on improving the livelihoods of the rural poor in developing countries. This includes studying technology adoption, financial products for smallholder farmers, market access, and anti-poverty programs. I have ongoing projects under the Peanut & Mycotoxin Innovation Lab, the BASIS Assets and Market Access Innovation Lab, and Livestock Systems Innovation Lab, all of which are USAID Feed the Future programs.

I teach undergraduate and graduate courses in international development, a graduate course in research methods, and a first year seminar on foreign aid and global poverty.
