What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is an established, recognised system of diagnosis and treatment that lays its main emphasis on the structural integrity of the body. Osteopathy is distinctive in that its approach recognises much of the pain and disability, that we suffer, stems from
abnormalities in the functioning of the body's framework, in addition to damage caused by disease and injury. This will involve the osteopath looking to find the cause of tension and stiffness, and then seeking to relieve it by helping the body achieve more mobility and flexibility.

Osteopathy uses many of the diagnostic procedures used in conventional medical assessment and diagnosis. Its main strength, however, lies in the unique way the patient is assessed from a mechanical, functional and postural standpoint, and the manual methods of treatment applied to suit the needs of the individual patient. Close attention is applied to the effects of the patient's lifestyle.

Applying this, we can help in the treatment and management of the following:

Low back pain
Neck pain
Slipped disc
Sciatica
Headaches
Sports injuries
Postural problems
Repetitive strain injuries
Frozen shoulder
Tendininits / tendinopathy
Tennis / golfers elbow
Problems associated with arthritis
Hip / knee / ankle injuries
Plantar fascitis
Pregnancy related problems
Chronic & longterm aches & pains

…and many more. Should you require further advice on the above, or if we have not included your complaint on the list, then please contact us
