CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 2018 DUTTONHAVER EARTHWATCH RECIPIENTS Max Roberts, Marissa Bernal, Nora Bahr, Tiger Schenkman, Olivia Brebes.  They will be studying Monkeys, Parrots and other wildlife in Costa Rica this summer!

RAINFOREST CONNECTION The Rainforest Connection creates acoustic monitoring systems called Guardians to help end illegal deforestation in real time.  Founder and engineer, Topher White, worked with Zoo Magnet student to help build Guardians from old cell phones, then installed them in a Brazilian rainforest. The Rainforest Connection Team held a live launch event on Earth Day with our school, where the devices went live. Read more about our work with the Rainforest Connection.

Catherine with her finished float.CONGRATULATIONS TO CATHERINE GLANDON FOR WINNING THE GREEN SPOTLIGHT AWARD for outstanding sustainable practice in the City of Burbank.  Catherine received this award for promoting recycling with her float idea and also having Burbank Tournament of Roses using recycled items on the float and recycling after the parade.  We’re so proud of you! CONGRATULATIONS TO SAMANTHA NEUAH AND OLIVIA BREBES who competed in Duke Moot Court, is a student-run undergraduate organization centered on an interest in Constitutional law, public speaking, debate, and pre-law studies at Duke University in North Carolina. Our team took 5th place in the nation at the Duke Moot Court Annual High School Tournament!
